MIRA STAR:
Mira is an oscillating variable star in the constellation Cetus, its surface increases and decreases in brightness over periods of time. Mira was the first non-supernova variable star discovered, and is also a double star. Mira was discovered by the astronomer David Fabricius in 1596 and it was named "Mira" (meaning "Wonderful") in 1662's Historiola Mirae Stellae, by Johannes Hevelius, for it acted like no other known star in the sky.
